Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa said that job seekers leaving for foreign employment by the country’s most important sector such as professionals and also the youth will automatically come to a halt after an SJB Government introduces a proper economy development plan for the country.
Addressing a group of young Professionals the Opposition Leader said a large number of small and medium scale business enterprises in the country have already been shut down and thousands of daily wage earners have lost their livelihood and others their monthly income.
“As a result youngsters who are involved in these business enterprises are trying to seek foreign employment opportunities and therefore the SJB’s objective is to revamp these business enterprises once again in order to stop our valuables assets leaving the country for foreign employment,” he said.
The Opposition Leader also mentioned that a group of professionals and also intelligent members are in the SJB and they have the capability to develop the country’s economy. Commenting on the sudden price reduction of Kerosene oil and Diesel for fisher community SJB, MP Dr. Harsha de Silva said at this moment when the Presidential election is scheduled to be held next month it is not an ethical to deceive voters by giving false promises and various perks aiming at the forthcoming election.
“Meanwhile the Government’s sudden proposal of reducing the price of diesel and kerosene oil to persons who are involved in the fishing industry is another shrewd promise to deceive people,” he said.
He even said another political group is saying that they would establish a new development bank and grant loans to people even without keeping any security as collateral. “Can people believe this?” He asked.
