The Election Commission has announced that the name of Idris Iliyas, an independent Presidential candidate who recently passed away, will not be removed from the list of candidates for the upcoming Presidential Election. Iliyas, whose election symbol was a vaccine syringe, will still have his name included on the ballot paper. The Commission also stated that if someone wishes to represent him in the election, it would be allowed, but the candidate would have to compete under Iliyas’ name.
Dr. Idris Iliyas, who was running as an independent candidate, passed away on Thursday (22) at the age of 79.
