‘Tharunyayata Jawaya’ (Strength to Youth) will support a candidate who proposes a national policy aimed at addressing the issues faced by the youth, chairperson of the organisation Prasanna Dissanayake said.

Dissanayake asserted that a candidate who articulates proposals aimed at empowering the future of the youth community in the country, and who possesses the capability to implement these proposals, will receive support in the upcoming Presidential Election.

He said that it is essential for the country to establish a national policy with an objective of shaping the future of the youth community in the country.

Dissanayake added that the country has witnessed many instances where politicians have come into power by making various political pledges in order to garner the support of the people.

To prevent such occurrences, it is imperative that the country implements a national policy focused on developing the future of the youth community.

He added that young people are encountering a range of challenges which have a detrimental impact on both the national economy and the overall development of the country.

“The energy and potential of the youth are crucial for bolstering the national economy and driving development. Therefore, it is essential to develop a comprehensive programme aimed at efficiently and effectively harnessing this youthful energy,” he said.

“The realm of education has transformed into a digitalised global village. ‘Tharunyayata Jawaya’ is dedicated to cultivating a youth community that is equipped to navigate this new landscape. It is our responsibility to address the educational, vocational, employment, and social challenges faced by the youth community, ensuring that their future can thrive and flourish.”
