“SLPP will increase state income by developing govt properties, not by selling them”

We intend to increase the state income by developing the government properties, not by selling them, said the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential Candidate Namal Rajapaksa.

Addressing a public rally held in Hakmana on Saturday (31), he stated, “Some people made it their policy to sell state properties which they do not establish. All of those state properties were established during Mahinda Rajapaksa’s governance from 2005 to 2015.

“There was a 30-year war in our country. During the war, people asked for power claiming to end the war. But Mahinda Rajapaksa was the only one who did it. He ended the war in three years.

“Under our government, we will take steps to protect the honour of our Armed Forces. Additionally, we will provide the youth with the job of their expectation, start industries in every constituency in the country, and put an end to unemployment.

“Even though the petrol queues were eliminated by increasing the price, we still have passport queues. It is because we weren’t able to integrate new technology with the state service. Under Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s governance, we started that initiative. We initiated a technological revolution by creating IT parks. Unfortunately, we couldn’t carry them out because of the Aragalaya. Under our government, we will eliminate all kinds of queues.

“During Mahinda Rajapaksa’s governance, he improved the farmers’ economy, attracted investors, built highways, and developed the tourism industry. However, after 2015, all of this progress came to a halt. Therefore, I have the responsibility to restart those developments that were initiated by my father, after September 22 and make Sri Lanka the best country in Asia.”
