Businessmen’s lunch with NPP at Kandy city hotel cancelled

The Kandy Election office officials has reportedly prevented an attempt to provide lunch for 25 large-scale quarry owners following a meeting with NPP executive committee member K.D Lalkantha and several NPP leaders at a star hotel in Kandy.

The election officials have taken action to inform a NPP delegation and the hotel management that it is illegal to entertain people in this manner when an election has been announced.

It has been revealed that the leading businessmen engaged in the quarrying industry in several districts of the country have come for this discussion.

The Kandy Election Office says that it was a buffet lunch and apart from the people staying at the hotel, local and foreign tourists also were there for their lunch.Due to this, Election Office officials have not taken steps to seize the food.
