Let’s unite to prevent destructive group taking power – Arundika

Puttalam District SLPP MP Arundika Fernando told Parliament yesterday that President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa should join hands immediately to prevent a destructive group from gaining power.

MP Fernando said that he will discuss with the groups that can save the country from those destroyers and for that he will work as an independent Member of Parliament from now on.

The SLPP Parliamentarian made a special statement yesterday informing that henceforth he will work as an independent Member of Parliament.

He said that President Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Premadasa, who are at the forefront of the Presidential battle, should come together immediately, understanding the current situation.

“A group that destroyed the country is engaged in misleading the people saying that previous rulers have not done anything for the country for 76 years. They have spread lies and today that lie has been adopted by the people and the country is in dire straits. I must say that politicians have made great sacrifices for the country from the past to the present.

“Do not allow the politics of hatred, the politics of burning houses, the politics of burning Parliament to rear its head again. If anyone is in the forefront to defeat the programme of the group that is trying to set the country on fire again, everyone should support him or her.

“From today I am independent. I negotiate with the team that can defeat the destructive team,” the Puttalam MP said.
