36 out of 41 SLPP Siyambalanduwa, Badalkumbura, Moneragala PS members support Ranil

Ranil Wickremesinghe who is running as an Independent candidate for the Presidential Election, will be supported by 36 of the 41 former members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) representing the three Pradeshiya Sabhas of Siyambalanduwa, Badalkumbura and Moneragala in the Moneragala electorate area. This was revealed at a press conference held yesterday (5).

Former Pradeshiya Sabha chairmen R.M.Ratnaweera (Moneragala), Samarasinghe Abeysekera (Badalkumbura), Deputy Chairman Nishshanka Punchimahattaya (Siyambalanduwa), Pradeep Wijeratne (Moneragala) and members representing the SLPP in those Pradeshiya Sabhas participated at this meeting.

The former Moneragala Pradeshiya Sabha chairman R.M.Ratnaweera said that when the country was in anarchy and bankrupt, the Pohottuwa leaders left their positions and that at the time Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was aware of all the obstacles and difficulties, took over the country.

“The country was brought to normal by eliminating gas queues, fuel queues and food queues. Basil Rajapaksa was the one who primarily worked to make Ranil Wickremesinghe the President. All the Members of Parliament were called and instructed to vote for him.”
