Let’s work together to rebuild our country – Tilvin

Our opponent’s statements already show that the NPP will be victorious in the forthcoming election. They are so agitated, said the National People’s Power (NPP) executive member Tilvin Silva.

Addressing a public rally held in Kalutara area on Friday (06) he further said, “Today, the predominant topic of conversation in the country is the victory of the NPP. There is absolutely no doubt that Anura Kumara Dissanayake will win with a massive majority and become the next President. This is now known to everyone in the country. Hearing about our certain victory, the opposition is in a state of panic. They are terrified.”

“It is because the National People’s Power is going to win that our opponents are so agitated. Some are saying that if the NPP wins, they won’t last more than six months. This shows they’re sure of our victory. I can confidently say that this election will be the first historical election in our country with no post-election violence. We are certain of that. We ask that everyone, whether they voted for us or not, to come together and enjoy this victory and work together to support the government in rebuilding the country.

“We have inherited a country that is economically bankrupt, burdened with debt, and unable to repay its loans. It is a country where children can’t be educated and people can’t afford three meals a day. It is a country with rising crime rates, where women and children can’t walk safely on the streets or travel safely on buses. Should we continue living in such a country? We must think about this sensibly and decide that this country needs to change.”
