Election campaign near schools barred on Sunday – Exams Chief

Examinations Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara has requested that no election campaign activities be conducted in a manner that could disturb children during the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.

The examination is scheduled for tomorrow (15) from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm and he emphasised that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure that children are not disturbed during this time.

Jayasundara made these remarks yesterday (13) while participating in a media briefing at the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka. He noted that the Scholarship Examination is taking place during a period of heightened election activity.He stressed that no activities using loudspeakers or any other methods that may cause disturbances to the children should be conducted during this period.
