Delegation from Russian Armed Forces visits KDU

A delegation from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces had a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Kotelawala Defence University, Rear Admiral H.G.U. Dhammika Kumara recently. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor discussed the possibility of strengthening relationships between KDU and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Further the Vice Chancellor highlighted the modern facilities available at KDU to enhance student learning.

Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky Head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome received and commented on KDU’s commitment to excellence in education and research for the defense sector following the meeting.The Vice Chancellor presented him with a thoughtful memento to commemorate his visit to KDU.

During their mission, the Russia officers visited Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and National Defence College. The parties exchanged initiatives on fostering the development of bilateral military educational contacts. A draft MoU was handed over to the Sri Lankan side in this regard during their meeting.
