Sunday Observer journalist Dinuli Francisco wins SPARK award

Sunday Observer journalist Dinuli Francisco won the SPARK Young Entrepreneurship Journalist Award at the SPARK grand finale held recently at the Taj Samudra hotel.

The SPARK competition, a unique initiative organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the US Department of State, aims to foster youth entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka. It focuses on creating an enabling environment for start-ups and encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship among the country’s youth.

This year’s SPARK finale introduced two new awards: ‘Young Entrepreneurship Journalist’ and ‘Young Entrepreneurial Journalist’.

These awards recognize young journalists who excel in promoting an entrepreneurial mindset among youth and supporting the creation of a business-friendly ecosystem in Sri Lanka and journalists who have start-up businesses respectively.
