Even though the opponents tried to create an impression that there would be unrest in the country, if NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake wins the Presidential Election, there was no such disturbance, and it was an example that the country needed, said Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera.
He said that the people of the country have given the new President this mandate with great expectations, and the new Government under President Dissanayake should work to fulfil those expectations.
The Ven. Thera noted the above when President Anura Kumara Dissanayake called on him yesterday (23) afternoon in Kandy and received his blessings.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter that a group of people tried hard to create an impression that, if the NPP wins, there will be riots in the country, but the Party members celebrated the happiness of the victory in such a way that no one was harmed or harassed.
President Dissanayake stated that the people of this country have shown that they want a new change in how all key sectors are managed, including Law and Order, the Economy and Political Culture.
The President said that, in order to make the relevant changes, the support of those engaged in the related fields is needed, and their aim is to get that support.
