Tanzanian President seeks to enhance ties with Sri Lanka

Tanzania’s President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has congratulated President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his electoral victory and his recent inauguration as the ninth President of Sri Lanka.

President Suluhu Hassan highlighted the strong and lasting bilateral ties between Tanzania and Sri Lanka, emphasising decades of cooperation across various sectors. She acknowledged the shared history of mutual respect and collaboration between the two countries.

“I am confident that, under your leadership, our partnership will reach new heights,” President Suluhu Hassan remarked, expressing optimism about the future of relations between the two countries. She reiterated Tanzania’s unwavering commitment to enhancing cooperation with President Dissanayake’s Government for the benefit of both peoples.

As President Dissanayake assumes his new role, President Suluhu Hassan reaffirmed her personal commitment, along with that of her Government, to further strengthen the bonds between Tanzania and Sri Lanka and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
