SJB to go it alone at General Election – Kabir

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya led Samagi Jana Sandhanaya has decided to contest the upcoming election independently without forming an alliance with United National Party.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya General Secretary Kabir Hashim yesterday said talks with the United National Party to have a broader alliance to contest the upcoming Parliamentary Election were unsuccessful.

The former Parliamentarian said that the UNP had announced their collaboration with the SLPP dissidents will continue and under these circumstances, the SJB cannot form an alliance with the UNP.

“The chance for the SJB to tie up with the United National Party is very limited as the latter had decided to continue political engagements with the SLPP dissidents, he said.
