Observers from eight countries to monitor upcoming Parliamentary Elections in November

The Election Commission said that observers from eight countries have been invited to monitor the upcoming Parliamentary Elections which will be held on November 14, 2024.

Chairman of the Election Commission R. M. A. L. Rathnayake said that observers who were in Sri Lanka previously to monitor the recently concluded 2024 Presidential Election will arrive in the country to monitor the 2024 General Election as well from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries and from Russia.

In addition to this, the Commonwealth Election observers and the European Union Election observers have also requested permission from the Election Commission to visit the country to monitor the 2024 General Election and are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka shortly to observe the General Election activities.

Also, the observers of the Asian Election Observation Network are scheduled to visit the country to observe the activities of the upcoming General Election.
