Commando Troops Hand Over the Body of a Young Man Found in Punchi Lokanthaya to the Police

A team of Sri Lanka Army Commando Regiment recovered the lifeless body of a young man who had been brutally murdered and disposed of in Mini World’s End (Punchi Lokanthaya) on 16 October 2024.

The information revealed by the Madolsima police indicates that the murder occurred on 01 October 2024. Following the incident, two suspects have been arrested by the police. During the police interrogations, it was disclosed that the 22-year-old victim was murdered by the two apprehended individuals, who subsequently disposed of his body in Punchi Lokanthaya.

In response to a request from the Madolsima police, a team of approximately 450 soldiers from the Sri Lanka Army Commando Regiment descended into the gorge to locate the deceased young man. Their efforts involved significant physical exertion as they worked to retrieve the body from the challenging terrain.

The troops of the Commando Regiment handed over the body of the young man to the Madolsima police for further examination and investigation.
