Lohan Ratwatte’s private secretary found dead

The Police found the body of Sanjeeva Basnayake, the private secretary to the former Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte, with gun shot injuries to the head, inside a building under construction in the premises of Ratwatte ancestral home (Walawwa) in Mahiyyawa, Kandy.

The private secretary, to the former Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte had been pronounced dead upon admittance to the Kandy National Hospital.

Police said he was found dead with gunshot injuries and that a firearm was also discovered near the body.

Police are yet to determine whether the death was a suicide or a homicide.

The police say that further investigations will be conducted.
