Chief of Defense Staff calls on PM

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, along with the Commanders of the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Navy, made official courtesy visits to the Honorable Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, this morning (24 October 2024) at the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, the CDS engaged in a cordial and productive discussion with the Prime Minister, providing a detailed briefing on his role and responsibilities. He also offered insights into the current National Security situation, highlighting key challenges and the vital role of the Armed Forces and their readiness in addressing these issues.

Concluding the visit, the CDS, in a gesture of tradition and respect, presented a memento to the Prime Minister, commemorating his first visit to her office.
