Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that November 07 and 08 are allocated for those who could not cast their postal votes for the 2024 Parliamentary Election on the previously allocated days. Ratnayake said that postal voters can cast their votes on November 07 and 08 through the Returning Officers at their relevant district election offices in the country.

Addressing a media briefing yesterday (4), Ratnayake said that the 2024 Parliamentary Election will take place as planned on November 14 and since the fundamental rights petition filed against the date of holding election was dismissed by the

Supreme Court yesterday, there are no obstacles to proceed with the planned activity to hold the election as scheduled by the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, all District Election Returning Officers and District Election Commissioners have been summoned to the Election Commission office in Rajagiriya tomorrow (6) to discuss and plan the election related activities running up to the day of election on November 14, Ratnayake said.
