No strikes now as NPP is in power – Manusha

0 1

Former Minister and Galle district NDF candidate for Parliamentary Elections Manusha Nanayakkara said that there were no strikes in the country now as those who organised strikes in the past were affiliated to the National People’s Power (NPP).

Speaking at a public meeting held in Galle, he said the NPP government has so far failed to fulfil their promises to the people, given during the Presidential Election. “Those who organised agitations and worker unrest are today contesting the upcoming election under the NPP. There are people in the ruling party today who have opposed all development activities in this country.

“So far the government has not been able to resolve the passport issue.”

He said former President Ranil Wickremesinghe had rescued the country from the economic crisis and he questioned how the NPP will mange future economic shocks.

Nanayakkara said that the NDF has a competent and experienced team contesting the election under the Gas Cylinder symbol and urged people to vote for the party to send capable and experienced people to Parliament.
