PM’s ambulances, medical units returned to public service

The medical unit established for the Prime Minister’s Office was discontinued on Tuesday (5). Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri released the medical officers, staff, equipment, medicines, and two ambulances which had been included in the unit to the Health Ministry.

The handover took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, with Saputhantri presenting the relevant documents and keys to Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala.

The human and physical resources from this unit will now be redirected to serve public health needs under the Health Ministry.
