The National People’s Power (NPP) yesterday announced its nominees to fill the 18 National List seats secured by the NPP in the General Election 2024.
The Election Commission yesterday issued a gazette notification accepting NPP nominees as parliamentarians.
Accordingly, the NPP nominees to enter parliament through its National List are;
- Bimal Rathnayake (JVP Politburo Member and NPP National Executive Member).
- Dr. Anura Karunathilake (Senior Lecturer, Department of Mathematics, University of Kelaniya NPP National Executive Member and Member of NPP Policy Formulation Committee)
- Prof. Upali Pannilage (Former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Ruhunu University, NPP National Executive Member and Member of NPP Policy Formulation Committee.
- Eranga Udesh Weerarathna (Company CEO, Information Technology Engineer, Member of Information Technology Policy Formulation Committee)
- Aruna Jayasekara (Retired Major General, Head of NPP Retired Army Officers Collective)
- Dr. Harshana Sooriyapperuma (Company Director, NPP Economic Council Member)
- Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku (Naval Assistant Engineer, Steering Committee Member, NPP Engineers Forum)
- Punya Sri Kumara Jayakody (Project Manager, NPP National Executive Member)
- Ramalingam Chandrasekar (Former Deputy Committee Chairman of Parliament, NPP National Executive Member and Jaffna District Organiser)
- Dr.Najith Indika (Social activist, former convener of the Inter-University Student Federation)
- Sugath Thilakaratne (Olympic athlete)
- Lakmali Hemachandra (NPP Lawyers Organisation Colombo District Executive Member)
- Sunil Kumara Gamage (Chartered Accountant, former National Water Supply Board DGM and Economic Council Member)
- Gamini Rathnayake (Former MP, Convener of National Center of Trade Zone Employees)
Prof. Ruwan Chaminda Ranasinghe (Dean of Uva Wellassa University Faculty of Management, Chairman of Uva Provincial Tourism Board)
- Sugath Wasantha de Silva (Social Service Officer (Retired), Chairman Sri Lanka Optical Graduate Board)
- Abubakar Adambawa (Deputy Secretary of Ceylon Teacher’s Service Association) and
- Upali Samarasinghe (Vanni District candidate and Vanni District organiser)
