Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa on Tuesday commended the assistance extended by the Indian Government for the development of the country. He appreciated the Indian Government’s contribution to improving the health service in the country as well as further developing bilateral relations, during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner in Colombo Santhosh Jha, at the Health Ministry.
They discussed several projects planned to be launched by the current Government through the Health and Media Ministry. They also reviewed the progress of several projects and programmes currently in operation.
The meeting was held at the request of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner Jha said that the Indian Government is implementing many projects in Sri Lanka and will continue to provide support for the improvement of all services including the health service in Sri Lanka.
Health and Media Deputy Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, Health and Media Ministry Acting Secretary K.M. Wathsala Priyadarshani and Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena, as well as First Secretaries Devika Lal and Navya Singla from the Indian High Commission were present.
