Bridge collapses in Oluvil

A bridge near Kaliyodai River at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka – Oluvil in Nintavur on the Akkaraipattu-Kalmunai main road collapsed yesterday (27) due to the inclement weather.

The transport service from Akkaraipattu to Kalmunai is blocked due to this collapse. The Tri-Forces assist the people to pass the bridge with the rope tied on one side to the other.

South Eastern University of Sri Lanka – Oluvil is also flooded. People are advised to be vigilant and avoid this route until further notice.
