Lankan Automobile Component Manufacturers explore opportunities in Thailand
A 12-member delegation of Sri Lankan automobile component manufacturers successfully concluded a week-long exposure visit to Bangkok recently.
The visit was jointly organized by the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and the Thai-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce. Its primary objective was to enhance the delegation’s understanding of Thailand’s advanced automotive sector and to foster meaningful business collaborations between the two countries.
The delegation comprised representatives from prominent companies, including Lanka Harness Co. Ltd., Auto Foam Ltd., Accolade Engineering Ltd., FRP Technologies Ltd., M.V Electronic Ltd., TOS Lanka Co. Ltd. and St. Anne Rubber Goods, Rorasil Ltd. The Key Highlights of the visit included participation in the Motor Expo Thailand to gain insights into the latest trends, innovations and technologies in the automotive industry, meeting with the Thailand Automotive Institute focusing on Thailand’s automotive policies and industry developments and opportunities for collaboration.
In addition, the tour also included visits to Manufacturing Facilities such as SAIC Motor CP; MG vehicle assembly plant, Siam NSK; a manufacturer of steering systems, Dashing International; a renowned for producing wire harnesses and Thai Smile Group and a networking session with the Thai-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce. The exposure visit provided valuable insights into Thailand’s advanced automotive manufacturing ecosystem and strengthened ties between the two countries. It also highlighted Sri Lanka’s potential as a supplier of high-quality automobile components for the global market.
