SL Government to allow the import of vehicles for personal use, with effect from February 01, 2025

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake declared that the government will permit the importation of vehicles for personal use starting February 1, 2025.

He made this announcement during a special address in Parliament today (18).

The President noted that the restrictions on importing personal-use vehicles are set to be removed as of February 1, 2025, while the import limitations on passenger buses and specialized vehicles were already lifted on December 14, 2024.
