ECG machine stolen from hospital

A nurse in charge of the Emergency Unit at Bentota Government Hospital reported to the Police that an ECG machine valued at approximately Rs. 225,000 was stolen from the hospital yesterday (19).

The hospital sources indicate that the theft occurred following a patient examination around 8.00 pm on December 18. They further said that the hospital has no security guards or watchmen, and the machine was missing by dawn, despite the main entrance being locked.

The Emergency Unit has been temporarily closed until fingerprint reports are obtained. Police are investigating the incident.
