National Security Day 20th anniversary of Tsunami commemorated in Kalutara

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the tragic Tsunami, a commemoration was held yesterday (26) at the Kalutara District Secretariat (KDS ) premises, remembering the people who lost their lives and those who went missing in that disaster with the participation of all religious priests and Headed by the Kalutara District Secrtary Janakaka K. Gunawardena.

A two-minute silence was observed to recall those who lost their lives and those who went missing in this natural disaster.

Addressing the gathering, the Kalutara District Secretary Janaka K. Gunawardena said that it is very important to make all possible preventive measures and arrange a special early warning system to prevent this disaster from happening again.

Kalutara District Disaster Management Head, Col. Prashantha Perera, Kalutara District Additional Secretary S. Thrimanna, and many State officials participated in the event.
