India fetes Dr. Anwar Hamdani of SL HC

Dr. Anwar Mohammad Hamdani, who served as the Ministerial Counsellor at the Sri Lanka’s High Commission in India, was felicitated in India in recognition of his outstanding service recently.

During the Covid-19 epidemic, Dr. Hamdani performed a great service in saving the lives of those infected by being employed in the Health Ministry. As a public servant as well as a medical practitioner who was enriched with true humanitarian qualities, he was respected by individuals in the health sector as well as in other sectors.

Administrative Secretary of the New Delhi Buddhist Pilgrimage Centre, Ven. Pallegama Vijitha Thera recently appreciated Dr. Anwar Mohammad Hamdani’s work for the development of the Sri Lankan Buddhist Pilgrimage Centre in New Delhi and the welfare of the visiting Buddhist pilgrims when he returned to Sri Lanka after completing his service at the Sri Lankan High Commission in India.

Ven. Ambagaswewe Piyaratne Thera and a large group of Buddhist pilgrims also joined the ceremony which was held at the Vandana Niketana premises.
