Tabling of Appropriation Bill approved

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to table the Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2025 in Parliament.

According to Government Information Department sources, at this week’s Cabinet meeting, approval was given to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare the Bill. Subsequently, the Attorney General’s clearance was obtained for the draft prepared by the Legal Draftsman.

As a result, the Cabinet approved the proposal by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Finance, Planning, and Economic Development Minister, to publish the Bill in the Government Gazette and later present it to Parliament for approval.
