Sri Lanka’s Consulate in Dubai assists nationals during UAE’s Amnesty

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai and the Northern Emirates extended comprehensive support to the Sri Lankan community in the UAE during the United Arab Emirates Amnesty Programme 2024.

This initiative, held from September 1 to December 31 2024, allowed individuals to either regularise their visa status or return to Sri Lanka without facing penalties.

During the period 13,434 individuals visited the Consulate General during regular consular hours and special amnesty consular hours seeking assistance/services

Also 2,232 Passports applications had been accepted and 1,236 Temporary Travel Documents (TTDs) and 344 Non-Machine-Readable Passports (NMRP) had been issued to those who do not hold a valid Passport or had lost their Passports.
