Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya presided over a meeting held at the Education Ministry to review the progress of initiatives under the World Bank-supported programme aimed at modernising school education in the country on Friday (3).
The meeting focused on the status of projects implemented in recent years to benefit schoolchildren and educational institutions. The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of improving hygiene practices and sanitation among schoolchildren and enhancing the integration of Information Technology in secondary education curricula.
Education and Higher Education Deputy Minister Dr. Madura Seneviratne, Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa and other officials were also attended.
