Ven. Ananda Nayake Thera appointed Chief Adhikarana Sanghanayake for NWP
Ven. Ambagaspitiye Ananda Nayake Thera, the Chief Incumbent of Sri Mahindarama Viharaya in Arunapura, Dauldamana, Dimbulagala, Polonnaruwa, has been appointed as the Chief Adhikarana Sanghanayake for the North Western Province.
The official act of appointment and credentials will be presented to Ven. Ananda Nayake Thera on January 19 at a traditional ceremony at the historic Uposhathagaraya (conference hall) at the Asgiriya Viharaya in Kandy.
The event will be attended by several Mahanayake and Anunayake Theras, members of the Maha Sangha, Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, Diyawadana Nilame of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth, Pradeep Nilanga Dela, and other distinguished invitees.
During the ceremony, the customary presentation of the parchment and Vijinipatha (traditional fan) will take place.
Following this, a reception and felicitation ceremony (Abhinandana) will be held at Sri Mahindarama Viharaya in Arunapura, Dauldamana, Dimbulagala, Polonnaruwa, on January 21. The event will be presided over by the Mahanayake and Anunayake Theras and will also be graced by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, along with other dignitaries.
This prestigious appointment further highlights the significant role Ven. Ananda Nayake Thera plays in the Buddhist clergy and his contributions to the spiritual and social well-being of the community.
