The number of dengue cases reported for 2025 has surpassed 3,000, as stated by the Epidemiology Unit.
As of January 19, a total of 3,185 cases have been documented, with the Gampaha district having the highest number at 482 cases.
The Western Province has recorded the highest provincial total, with 1,442 cases.
Additionally, two dengue-related deaths have been reported for 2024.
Health authorities are urging the public to maintain cleanliness and eliminate mosquito breeding sites to help prevent the spread of dengue.
