Browns Battery and Tyres recognised at SLIM Awards

A key leader in the automotive battery industry in Sri Lanka, Browns Battery and Tyres was recognised recently at the annual SLIM National Sales Awards 2024, at a ceremony held to honour high-performers for their achievements, while being the only country-level awards ceremony which acknowledges sales personnel amongst a diverse range of industries.

Under the Automotive/Frontliners segment, Browns Battery and Tyres earned four awards with Sameera Abeysinghe, Eshan Wijerathna, Ravindu Ranasinghe and Chinthaka Herath securing gold, bronze and merit accolades respectively.

In the Corporate Sales/Territory Manager category, Chief Manager Business Development, Abdul Faizer was honoured with a bronze award for leadership, strategy, innovation and market growth.

A pioneer in the automotive battery market, Browns led the way by importing Silver Exide from the United Kingdom in the 1920s. Following its success, in collaboration with Exide Industries India and British Batteries, the Company established Sri Lanka’s first lead-acid battery manufacturing factory in 1960 Associated Battery Manufacturers Ceylon Limited.
