CFA Society and Deloitte offers course on Mergers & Acquisitions Essentials

CFA Society Sri Lanka, in partnership with Deloitte Sri Lanka & Maldives, announced a specialized course, “From Concepts to Closing: Mergers & Acquisitions Essentials,” to be held on Thursday, 30 January 2025, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Taj Samudra, Colombo.

This program is tailored to provide professionals with a foundational understanding of the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) process. It will focus on the rationale behind M&A, the structured life cycle of a deal, its critical components, and the legal frameworks governing such agreements.

“By the end of the course, participants will gain the essential knowledge and skills required to navigate complex transactions effectively,” said a spokesperson from CFA Society Sri Lanka.

The course outline emphasizes the core aspects of the M&A process, beginning with the strategic rationale for M&A and an introduction to the M&A life cycle.

Key topics include financial and tax due diligence, with a focus on critical technical aspects and fair value considerations. The program will also delve into the legal framework, covering Sales and Purchase Agreements, conditions precedent (CPs), representations and warranties, financial close, and settlement mechanisms.
