Pathfinder Foundation presents copy of Namamala to Anunayake Thera

Pathfinder Foundation Founder Milinda Moragoda presented the first copy of Namamala, a reprint of the critical Pali grammar book, to Most Ven. Dr. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Anunayake Thera of the Malwathu Chapter of the Maha Viharaya, at the launch held BMICH recently.

Moragoda also handed over the copies to Most Ven. Wendaruwe Upali Thera, Senior Professor Ven. Kotapitiye Rahula Thera, Most Ven. Dr. Waskaduwe Mahindawansa Mahanayake Thera of Amarapura Sambuddha Sasanodaya Chapter and Most Ven. Waleboda Gunasiri Anunayake Thera.

The book was first printed in 1870, and a second edition was published in 1965, considering the needs of the student community studying the Pali language in universities. The Pathfinder Foundation decided to republish the book in its original format with the approval of the Mahanayake Thera Most Venerable Dr. Waskaduwe Mahindawansa Mahanayake Thera of Amarapura Sambuddha Sasanodaya Chapter to provide students an opportunity to study Pali as an academic language.
