MP Archchuna cries foul over non allocation of time

0 1

MP Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna told in Parliament yesterday that he will refrain from supporting the Government in the future due to not being given the opportunity to express his views.

He said that relevant parties should be ashamed of not being given the opportunity to speak for 64 days as an MP and that what is important to him is to present his views on behalf of his people.

He also stated that his privilege has been violated by not being given the time to express his views even though 64 days have passed since the commencement of the Tenth Parliament.

He stated this while raising a question of privilege in Parliament.

Leader of the House, Minister Bimal Ratnayake, said that it is the responsibility of the Opposition Leader, the Chief Opposition Leader and the Opposition Members to provide an opportunity for Parliamentarian Ramanathan Archchuna to express his views.
