Networking meeting to connect Lankan companies based in Cambodia
The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Thailand accredited to Cambodia successfully organized a networking meeting to connect Sri Lankan companies based in Cambodia with businesses interested in exploring opportunities in this dynamic market.
The meeting was attended by representatives from CAMCEM Co. Ltd., the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM), and around 20 Sri Lankan businesses operating in Cambodia, alongside companies keen to expand into the Cambodian market.
The meeting highlighted key opportunities in Cambodia’s growing market and created a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing and partnerships that strengthen economic ties between Sri Lanka and Cambodia. She emphasized that the Embassy initiated this meeting to serve as a platform for Sri Lankan companies in Cambodia to connect with those exploring opportunities in Cambodia and the Embassy’s aim is to facilitate meaningful collaborations, address challenges, and support the private sector as they expand their footprint in this vibrant region.
The CEO of CAMCEM Co. Ltd. shared insights into operating in Cambodia, while the SLASSCOM outlined the potential for IT and software services collaborations. Participants engaged in discussions on various sectors, including trade, technology, manufacturing and property development and explored ways to enhance Sri Lanka’s economic presence in Cambodia.
