Ceylon Biscuits enters Kenya with EFL Global Kenya

CBL (Ceylon Biscuits Limited) Group, has entered the Kenyan market and the launching was officiated by the former High Commissioner to Kenya Kana Kananathan . This strategic entry is made in collaboration with EFL (Expo Freight) Global Kenya, a prominent logistics provider with over two decades of experience in East Africa.

CBL Group is celebrated for its extensive range of high-quality food products, including biscuits, chocolates, long shelf-life cakes, soy-based foods, nutritional supplements, cereals, coconut-based items and organic fruits and spices.

Former High Commissioner Kananathan said the partnership between CNL and EFL would elevate both companies to new heights in East Africa and across the continent. He commended the entrepreneurs behind this initiative for their significant investments in Africa, emphasizing the importance of such ventures in driving growth and development in the region.

“I assure that through our robust network all necessary support would be provided to Sri Lankan businessmen who wish to do business in Africa, from Kenya and the other African region.”

Highlighting CBL’’s and EFL’s strong presence in Africa, he noted that its products already hold leadership positions in several West African markets. Furthermore, he acknowledged the group’s strategic expansion, which included establishing a manufacturing base in Ghana a few years ago, as a testament to their commitment to the African continent.

Now, as part of its ambitious expansion strategy in Africa, CBL has entered the Kenyan market. Partnering with EFL Global Kenya, the company aims to leverage EFL’s deep-rooted expertise in the East African region.

Kananathan commended EFL Global Kenya for their invaluable contribution to strengthening ties between Sri Lanka and Kenya by introducing Sri Lankan Products to the east African region and showcasing Sri Lanka’s manufacturing excellence in Kenya and the region.

The managing director of EFL Wasantha Ranasinghe said this launch of Munchee in Kenya marks another step in strengthening Sri Lanka-Kenya trade ties and a proud moment to see quality Sri Lankan products making their way into the African market.
