Sri Lanka Navy chess champions
Sri Lanka Navy Chess team became the Champions at the Super Fighters Team Chess Challenge 2022 conducted by the Super Fighters Chess club at Division Secretary Office Kalutara with nearly Rs 100,000 in cash prizes and attractive Prizes.
Sri Lanka Navy Chess Club consisting of FM Isuru Alahakoon, CM Chandana Wijekoon, Chamin Vithanage , Kalindu Deshappriya and Neesha Dananjalee claimed the Championship at the Super Fighters Team Chess Challenge 2022 on 16th February. This Team bagged Rs.25000 .Sri Lanka Navy team scored the total 11 match points out of possible 12, winning their five matches and drawing one Sumangalins Chess Club (3 – 1), Super Fighters Chess Club team A (4-0).
Scorpian Force – Jaffna with G. Jude Dorison ,S. Sivathanujan , B. Janukshan, T. Saipriyan, G. Peter played well to end up in second place with 11 match points out of 12. This team bagged Rs15,000.
They drew with Sri Lanka Navy Chess Team ( 2 – 2) but beat all other five teams they met, All Sumangalins Chess Club (2.5-1.5), Taxila Central College – Horana (3-1) ,Super Fighters Chess Club team B (3.5-0.5 ), Darker Knights (3.5-0.5), Scorpion Squad – Jaffna (4-0) scored 12 points. teams they met, Sumangala Balika Vidyalaya (3-1), Scorpion Warriors – Jaffna (3-1), Super Fighters Chess Club Girls team (3-1), Red Rubies (4-0). All Sumangalins Chess Club and Super Fighters Chess Club Team A tied for the 4th place with 8 points each but All Sumangalins Chess Club got the 4th place on the better tie breaking points which is the total of the individual points scored by the players. All SuSumangalins had 17.5 points while Super Fighters Team A had 14 only. Super Fighters Chess Club Girls Team Won Best Girls championship with Rs 6,000.
This team consisted of Bimansa Jayandi , Piyumi Uthpala, Anujana Hasandi , Sathini Disathna.
Super Fighters Chess Club under 10 Team Won Under 10 Championship with 6,000. This team consisted of Sithuli Sithumya , Ranul Kannangara, Chanuth Nandil, Mithum Dinsitha.
