Kaumal spins Army to victory

Left-arm spinner Kaumal Nanayakkara took a match bag of 11 wickets for 82 runs to spin Army SC to a seven-wicket win over Ace Capital CC at Panagoda in the Major Club Emerging 3-day tournament matches concluded on Sunday.

The former Cambrian leggie produced 6 for 16 in the first innings to tame Ace Capital for 93 all out while taking 5 for 66 in the second innings to guide Army’s victory.

Meanwhile NCC’s opener 21-year-old Johanne de Zilva scored his second consecutive century in this tournament as he scored 144 against Kurunegala YCC to seal victory for innings and 114 runs in their match played at Krurunegala.

Air Force SC’s Moveen Subasinghe scored unbeaten 203 which was the third double century of this tournament.

The promising paceman Dilshan Madishanka took 6 for 58 as Coltc CC won by innings and 8 runs over Galle CC in their game played at Colts grounds while experienced Minod Bhanuka made 180 that guided CCC to gain innings and 100 runs win over Navy SC in their match at CCC grounds. Air Force and Nugegoda SC also recorded innings victories in this tournament.
