OpenArc Campus to offer British BSc. and MSc. degrees

OpenArc Group has entered into a joint collaboration with EduCLaaS, Singapore to offer a unique ‘Learn and Earn’ degree and a master’s programme.
EduCLaaS has partnered with Roahampton University, UK and the qualification is offered from Roahampton University.
OpenArc Campus, having been established in 1995 as a subsidiary of OpenArc Systems Management (Pvt) Ltd (OSM), has been offering undergraduate Programmes of state owned universities over the past twenty-five years,” said Chairman, Eng. Daya Hettiarachchi.
“Initially, we are offering two programmes for two sectors of the population namely, Information Technology and Business Management.”
“The undergraduates who perform well at the OpenArc Campus get the opportunity of apprenticeship, followed by work atthe parent company, OSM, the market leader in Banking & Financial software in Sri Lanka.”
This is after settling the entire course fees for the four-year degree programme.Hettiarachchi emphasized that it will be an attractive proposition for any student to earn a degree and work experience making a net gain after having gone through a very practical learning process. During the first year, students will have to do full-time study through practical workshops. They will learn all that is needed to work in global companies.
“During the balance three years, they will be offered apprenticeship in global companies while studying part-time. Therefore, by the end of the programme, a student has three years of work experience in a global company and net savings of USD 5,000. Hence, they have the ability to either start on their own or work for a reputed company locally or globally.”
The other programme is ‘’Masters in Computing”, aimed at transforming graduates of other disciplines to the information & communication technology industry. This Masters degree is also offered by the Roahampton University, UK.During the balance eighteen months they will be offered apprenticeship in global companies and study part-time.
Joel Chow, Managing Director, International, eduCLaaS, Singapore said that they are very happy to be in partnership with OpenArc. We provide paid apprenticeship in Fortune 500 companies for our students, and on successful completion of the apprenticeship, students will have the opportunity to continue with the same company, on mutual agreement, he said.
“Anyone who is interested in reading for the BSc degree at OpenArc Campus can join the degree programme with two subjects in A/L (any stream).”
