Three-year-old girl killed in Gampola road accident

A three-year-old girl has died following a road accident in the Nallagolla area along the Gampola–Nawalapitiya road, police said.

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon within the Atgala Police Division when a car attempting to overtake a bus collided with a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist and two children sustained injuries and were admitted to the Gampola Hospital. The three-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.

Police have arrested the driver of the car in connection with the incident. Atgala Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
