
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretray Tilvin Silva met with Cuba’s newly appointed Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Patricia Pego Guerra, this morning at the party’s head office in Pelawatte.
During the meeting, discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Cuba, as well as enhancing ties between the Cuban Communist Party and the JVP.
Ambassador Pego Guerra expressed Cuba’s willingness to explore cooperation in key sectors including health, education, sports and disaster management in Sri Lanka.
Both sides also discussed expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, the JVP conveyed its best wishes to the Cuban Ambassador for a successful diplomatic mission in Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
