Illegal ‘lunch sheet’ manufacturing factory raided in Bandaragama

The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) and the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) have raided a factory in Bandaragama in the Kalutara District that was producing banned polythene ‘lunch sheets’.

The raid was carried out on Monday (10) by the CEA and the CAA, where a stock of prohibited polythene lunch sheets being manufactured at the facility was taken into the custody of the CAA for legal action.

The CEA said legal proceedings will be initiated against the factory owner under the provisions of the National Environmental Act. (NewsWire)
