Revenue inspector nabbed over Rs. 50,000 bribe

A Revenue Inspector attached to the Monaragala Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested over allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) said.

According to the Commission, the suspect was taken into custody following an investigation into a complaint that the official had requested money in exchange for facilitating an official matter.

The arrest was carried out by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on March 29. (Newswire)
