Johnston Fernando arrives at Illegal Assets Investigation Division

Former Minister Johnston Fernando has arrived at the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.

It is reported that he has arrived to record a statement in connection with an investigation related to former local government member Sampath Manamperi.

Manamperi was initially arrested in September last year over allegations of concealing two containers of raw materials suspected to be used in the production of the drug crystal methamphetamine (‘ICE’) and possession of weapons, in Middeniya, reportedly belonging to underworld figure Kehelbaddara Padme.
