SLC introduces accreditation system for Player Managers

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has called for applications from individuals and business entities seeking accreditation as Player Managers, introducing a formal framework to regulate player representation in the country.

According to a notice issued by SLC, accredited Player Managers will be officially recognised by the governing body and will be eligible to represent Sri Lanka Cricket-contracted players at international, national and domestic levels in line with SLC regulations.

The accreditation system will allow approved Player Managers to negotiate player contracts, sponsorship agreements, endorsements, commissions, management fees and other commercial arrangements on behalf of players. Accredited managers will also be included in a pool from which cricketers may select their preferred representatives.

Applicants are required to have at least three years of experience in fields such as sports management, player representation, business management, law, marketing, finance or related disciplines. They must also demonstrate knowledge of ICC and SLC regulations, possess relevant academic or professional qualifications and pass integrity and background checks.

SLC said the initiative is aimed at ensuring players have access to competent, professional and accountable representation while maintaining compliance with cricket governance standards. (Newswire)
