Man allegedly killed by brother in Mawanella dispute

A 42-year-old man was allegedly killed after being attacked with a sharp weapon by his brother following a dispute in Mawanella, police said.

The incident occurred on Monday (29) night in the Kannahena area of Mawanella Police Division.

Police said preliminary investigations indicate that an argument between the victim and his brother escalated, during which the suspect allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting fatal injuries.

The victim was a resident of Alathara, Kannahena.

Police have identified the suspect and launched further investigations. (Newswire)
